Current academic program or career:
I study the basic science mechanism of an epigenetic event that specifies the site where chromosomes attach to the mitotic spindle that segregates them when cells divide. This event appears to be initiated by a targeted endogenous DNA damage mechanism. My research has important implications for cancer, aging, environmental hazards, nutritions, gene therapy, and stem cell research. |
