Current academic program or career:
I am a member in the lab of Dr. Kathleen Gould. Our main research focus is on cell cycle research using the fission yeast, Schizosaccharomyces pombe as a model organism. I am most interested in how proteins which must only function at specific times in the cell cycle are regulated. My thesis has focused on the transcriptional regulation and ubiquitin-mediated degradation of the anillin-like protein Mid2 and how this regulation affects septin ring dynamics and completion of cytokinesis. |
